Psst! What you have here isn't really a release candidate, it works fine, but it isn't packed for release. What you have here is the necessary files. This contains only landscapes and locations, nothing else.

You also need Shivering Isles and the latest 1.2 416 patch

What are these files for?
Middle-earth.esm, This is the 'Main mod' this is in the very truest sense the MOD. So what are the LOD Files for? LOD - Loaded on Distant, this is as called in Oblivion "Distant Land", it's very rewarding if your computer can handle it. And you'll also want the resources, all the models, meshes, textures. Without this you'll be having alot yellow exclamation marks scattered around the mod.

How to get into The World:
When you've installed everything properly;
4.1 start your game;
4.2 load your favorite saved-game;
4.3 open up your console;
4.4 write, "cow middleearth -45,45" without "". And press enter.
4.5 You have now teleported to somewhere in or/near The Shire.
4.6 Take a stroll and look around.

1.0 Troubleshooting:
1.1 I can't get to Middle-earth!?
1.2 I don't see distant land?(I only see a few cells around me)
1.3 The distant land is not working properly (weird, missing/pink textures)

1.1 I can't get to Middle-earth!?
There could be several reasons why you can't get to Middle-earth.
First, you have not enabled the Middleearth.esm, to do this start the Oblivion Launcher,
1.1.1- Press 'Data Files',
1.1.2- Find the mod in the list.
1.1.3 - Tick the Checkbox for the Middle-earth.esm
Secondly, you might encounter problems if you have other Mods installed, try disabling these Mods or uninstalling them.
Finally, you might not have installed the mod properly. Try reinstalling the mod,
Follow the instructions in the Readme.txt that comes with the files.


1.2 I don't see distant land?(I only see a few cells around me)
First, you might not have LOD(Distant Land) enabled in your Video options.
Open the Options Menu > Video Options > and Enable "Distant Land". Furthermore it is optional if you want to enable "Distant Buildings" and/or "Distant trees".
Also you have to crank up your "view distance" to as much as your computer can handle.
Finally, other Mods that adds Worldspaces with LOD might interfere. You should preferably uninstall that mod or try disabling it.


1.3 The distant land is not working properly (weird, missing/pink textures
First of, try set your textures to large, this could help with LOD texture problems. This helps if the problem is weird, patchwork colors. If you had read the readme you'd know it.
IF that doesn't work, the problem could be caused by other Mods with Distant Land (LOD).
You should preferably uninstall other mods or try disabling them.


1.4 The landscape has holes/rips/otherwise broken!
This is often caused by other Mods with worldspaces.
Try disabling it, if that doesn't work try uninstalling it.


1.5 I can walk through some models!?
This is not your fault, we have not added collisions to some meshes yet, this will be fixed in the future.
